The Rock definitely has everything that it will take to be the next great action hero, and based on his performance in this film maybe more than that at some time in the future. The Rundown has a lot in common with the film Midnight Run (the classic action comedy starring Robert Deniro and Charles Grodin) and that isn't a knock on it. It does what is necessary to update the theme and sets it in a more exotic location (the Amazon) and when you have some one like The Rock it works best if you can up the action level as well. Its one true advantage over Midnight Run is that Christopher Walken is his usual, great self as the villain in this film. The Rundown isn't going to win any academy awards, but I do guarantee you a good time.
