The
Pianist is a unique holocaust movie in that it is solely from
the point of its protagonist. What he is experiencing is what
we see, but since as viewer we know the true horrors that would
await him if he was taken to a concentration camp his continued
survival is all the more important to us. Adrien Brody won an
Oscar for his performance and it was extremely well deserved.
That someone could survive for seven years under those types of
conditions shows you how resilient human beings can be when their
existence is at stake.
