Although by name Foxy Brown is much more recognizable than its predecessor Coffy (also starring Pam Grier and directed by Jack Hill), in most reviews that I have read it is always looked down upon. Going into Foxy Brown I was expecting a weak blaxploitation flick. There is nothing quite like a pleasant surprise. Foxy Brown has everything you could want from this type of genre picture. A gorgeous, ass kicking Pam Grier, an interesting story with some nice twists and turns and a great ending. How much more can you ask for.

The picture quality on this disc is amazingly good. All of the wild colors are nicely reproduced with a minimum of artifacts. Low budget, 1974 exploitation flicks don't look a whole lot better than this.

A major thumbs up to MGM for inclusion of Jack Hill's commentary track. He is better when he has someone like Tarantino along for the ride, but he goes over details on just about everything you would want to know about the film.
