SUMMARY
This is a remake of the classic 1962 film. The original was strictly a good versus evil scenario, and what I think is most important when you do a remake is to bring your own interpretation to it and not just stick with what worked in the original. What is great about Scorsese's version is all of the shades of grey he brings to each character. They all have some dirty laundry lurking just under the surface and Sam (Nick Nolte) really has wronged Max (Robert De Niro) in this version of the film.

Note:
Julliete Lewis deserved an academy award just for her extremely disturbing scene with Robert De Niro in the auditorium. She is that good.
