Bad Santa is one of those great comedies that has you both cringing and laughing at the same time. You may think, oh no, not another gross out comedy, but that is not the reason for the cringing. That is solely due to the character that Billy Bob Thorton plays. He IS one Bad Santa. You know when an early scene has Santa sitting in a bar in his outfit and tells the female bartender he is an eating, shitting, fucking Santa that this is not a normal holiday movie. It takes it even further when she replies by telling him to prove it. (We later learn she has always had a Santa fantasy) Every character is perfect in this film and my guess is the film will only get better with repeated viewings.

Note: I didn't have the chance to see the film in the theaters so I am not sure what additional footage was actually added to the film for the unrated release.
