Audition is the story about a widower who, after some prompting by his son, decides he is going to try and remarry. His producer friend suggests that they hold a fake audition for a movie and he can choose from the attendees. While reading the bios of the applicants he finds one that truly interests and slowly they start going out. Eventually the go away for a weekend together and this is where the problems begin. Director Takashi Miike is known for his ultra-violent imagery and this one goes from a love story to "Misery on acid" in a hurry.
